Amaryllis, a purse, and something blue

A quick sketch of some amaryllis I've been meaning to paint
An old purse and my husband's wallet. For EDM Challenge #3.
I better start adding new ones or I'll never keep up :)
This is Midna, from the Zelda Twilight Princess video game.
I painted her for an art show on Friday 11/18/11 for a Legend of Zelda Art Exhibition celebrating 25 years of the video game series. Hundreds of people came to the event, and she was placed in the front by the entrance, which was pretty cool :)

My birthday cake!

It's my twin sister's birthday today too but she didn't get to have cake with me since she lives an hour away and we both worked. I usually make cakes, but I'm taking a break so I decorated this one with my little girl. Up top are dipping cups we used for some colored vanilla icing :)

Halloween Cat

A portrait of my cat Dominic who is really all black with red highlights, in celebration of Halloween coming up-trick or treat time with the kids!

I spent way too much time on this one, and had a busy day at home answering calls for my 2nd job-which I put in my two week notice for. It's just not worth the stress and I'd rather spend the time with my kids and art and friends & family of course :)

Pomegranates

Somehow the week has slipped by and it's the weekend already. Weds I worked and got pomegranates from my mother-in-law, Thursday I cleaned the house a little, Friday I had lunch with my girlfriend, and visited my dad. Today after cleaning the bedroom with my husband and homemade pizza for dinner, Ellie and I shared some fruit for dessert :)

Affectionately Named Gertrude

Recently I read on article on baby names and how some names are "better" than others. Then I read the user comments where many people had a distain for a certain name. So I decided to sketch a model from a catalogue, and I'm dubbing her Gertrude, the lingerie supermodel.

Robot Cars are Awesome

My little girl and I painted robots today. Her's was definitely more...abstract. Kid's paint with kid's brush...really challenging compared to conventional brushes. Optimus Prime from Transformers

Flowers at Venus

Today I attended a drawing workshop with fellow artists, hosted at Venus's place with Stan Goudey. It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun. These are some flowers at Venus's place, done in watercolor on drawing and watercolor paper. Lines done with ink pen.
