Found Baby Rat

Co-workers found this little baby outside on Thursday and no one wanted to get rid of it, so they decided to give it to me (since the last thing found at work was a kitten that became my cat-I know..I'm such a sucker.) Thank goodness for the internet, I found out it was not a baby possum or raccoon, it was a baby rat approximately a week old, and read up on how to take care of it with helpful advice from friends too. Boy did I wish I wasn't such a softie! So here I am, three days later, still caring for this tiny little critter. Of course I can't keep it, it'll have to grow up to be a wild animal, and released eventually. For now, I will try to make it's stay as comfortable as I can but yes, I am using gloves.

In other news, it has been seriously 5 months or more since I've posted anything! I've had a busy holiday season between Thanksgiving, our annual Disneyland trip, Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries and Easter too! Whew, off to drawing!

This is Midna, from the Zelda Twilight Princess video game.

I painted her for an art show on Friday 11/18/11 for a Legend of Zelda Art Exhibition celebrating 25 years of the video game series. Hundreds of people came to the event, and she was placed in the front by the entrance, which was pretty cool :)

At the Playground

I had a great day with a friend at the playground today. Our kids got to run around and enjoy themselves while we chatted and I sketched. Watercolor and ink.

This is my corgi Turbo. I decided to sketch him after we played fetch for a while today after work. Watercolor on 90lb watercolor paper, ink lines (although I wish I didn't over-color it)

Fork in a Funnel Cake

I got a chance to go to the San Diego Fair on Saturday after work, and between my friend and I, convinced each other to pitch in for the 4-6 serving size of a Mexican Funnel Cake (tastes like a churro). I did not realize it was so big, and as we carried it to a seating area we eventually found, we received stares and gasps and "OMG" all around.
